poem : gitana

gitana

you aren’t yourself
when you are restrained
screaming out like a lion
when someone brushes against you

don’t be so hard

there is a song, somewhere,
with just the percussion
of drum and violoncello

you walk by, humming the melody

I keep writing about you
either poems are not enough

or you are too much

I take cover from the lightning of your body
still wishing I was full in your rain

poem : battle plan

battle plan

I’m not through warring with you my words
not yet done with their climb my anger
still unruly

What I have to say is:
my love is jelly on your fingers
I want you to taste me again,
follow that sugary touch
to the back door of my house
